Corruption of Arcana Weekly Devlog 5

Things are really pumping up this week, lots of new changes. Our demo playtest is getting closer and closer each day and we are getting excited, and a little nervous, but its not going to stop us pushing out new content each week. So without further delay here is all the new things we've finished this week that you can expect to see in version 0.8.1

Thoth Changes

• Newly made small fishing boats dotted around the town
• Bounty posters for a certain lecturer hung up in key areas around town

World Changes

• 2D Grass has been added to the EFC
  • This will be added to Thoth when we have finished decorating
• Taro now has forward running sprites so you can see him sprint when the right key is held
• A new intro has been created to give the players more backstory into the world they are about to step into

Combat Changes

• New backdrops for combat scenes
  • The EFC now has its own twilight lighted combat backdrop to really give you that lost sensation
  • Node travelling combat (via the realm map) has had its 2 backdrops recoloured to feel more open and natural
• Health values for some minor enemies have been adjusted to match their strength
• Some cards have had a small damage and arcana cost change to make them feel more powerful and unique
• Resistances and weaknesses to certain attacks is more visible to the player when the go to attack an enemy
  • A red card appears around the enemy if they are resistance to the selected attack
  • A green card appears around the enemy if they are weaker and more susceptible to the selected attack 
• HP values are more clear on enemies
• GONE are the days of trying to time your attacks with a sliding health bar
• HP numbers now show just underneath an enemies health bar and will follow the health bar all the way to 0

New community challenges are one of the hot topics around the team now, we are trying to find new ways to challenge players and push them to become the best knights they can be.
