Corruption of Arcana 1.0 Release


The time has come, Corruption of Arcana is finished (for now). We managed to get everything we wanted and more into the game this year and are so happy with the result. Checkout our Twitter to see the comparison from our first build to our finished result. Even though we thought we had finished last week, some things were fixed and some changes were last minute to help us get the result we wanted. Below you can find all of the new features and fixed issues you can experience in Corruption of Arcana 1.0.0

Combat Changes

  • The Kraken has had some changes to its resistances and weaknesses
  • The base damage for Flurry has been increased
  • The base damage for all Kingmaker cards has been increased
  • The damage for Sickening Aura has been increased from 2-5 to 5-10
    • Sickening Aura is an enemy attack
  • Increased the base values for Expunge spread card
  • Changed the combat artwork for the Marksman bandit
  • Renamed an enemy outlaw from Shadow to Thief
  • Changed the combat artwork for the Thief
  • Changed the combat artwork for the Crystal Barrier
  • Re-edited artwork for most of the construct enemy type


New Changes

  • Removed Jumping
    • This is due to the issues it cause with player being able to escape the maps in certain areas
  • Added a tooltip bar to the bottom of the screen on the Realm node map to increase players understanding on what each coloured node means.
  • Added a couple NPCs around Thoth to better fill the space
  • Moved one of the carts away from the main gate in Thoth
  • Moved the location of the Crystal barrier in Thoth to better suit its combat background 


Fixed Issues

  • Fixed an issue where the backdrop was missing during the respawning dialogue
  • Fixed an issue where players could walk on water without being teleported back onto land
  • Fixed an issue where players could run through enemies without initiating combat
  • Fixed an issue where players were able to walk through some fences in Thoth
  • Fixed an issue where players were able to keep opening crates to receive more rewards than intended
    • Removed crates as a result
  • Fixed an issue where an incorrect background was showing for some Secret Bosses
  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to view their basic attack cards after changes sub pages in the 'Your Cards' menu
  • Fixed an issue where players could become trapped between invisible walls in the East Forest Clearing
